| On June 28th, our Contract Researcher in the Microbe Division (JCM), Dr. Takao Iino, has won the Japan Society for Culture Collections Incentive Award 2012
for his Cultivation and the taxonomic characterization of uncultured microorganisms from hot spring- and marine-associated samples. It is an award for young researchers under forty who have contributed to stock preservation and related academic achievements in microorganisms or other similar cultures, which is given to around 1 recipients every year.
