| NIG Mouse Genome Database (New)
+-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Please visit the renewed NIG Mouse Genome Database to search for the
MSM BAC clones.NIG Mouse Genome Database has been developed by Dr. Yukiko
Yamazaki, National Institute of Genetics. This Database was supported by
KAKENHI (Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research) on Priority Areas "Comparative
Genomics" and the National BioResource Project (NBRP) "Genome" from the
Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan.

| FY2009 NBRP Genome Information Upgrading Program
+-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Our subject entitled "BAC end sequencing of the mouse C57BL/6N substrain"
has been selected. The C57BL/6N substrain is widely used in the worldwide
knockout mouse projects. RIKEN BRC in collaboration with National Institute
of Genetics has been funded by FY2009 NBRP Genome Information Upgrading
Program and started to end-sequence BAC clones of C57BL/6N substrain.
The purpose of NBRP is to collect, preserve, and provide bioresources (such
as animals, plants) that are basic materials for life science research, and
to upgrade the bioresources responding to the demands of the present age by
adding higher values though developing preservation technology, genome
analysis, and others.
+-----------------------------------------------------------------------
| RIKEN BRC Training course
+-----------------------------------------------------------------------
A trainee from National Laboratory Animal Center in Taiwan visited RIKEN
BRC to participate the BRC training course entitled "Bioresource Banking and
Management System". He stays for a month to learn our management system for
cryopreservation, quality control and database.

| Visit of Yonsei University College of Medicine and Seoul National University
+-----------------------------------------------------------------------
The Dean of Yonsei University College of Medicine and other 7 directors and
professors visited RIKEN BRC on July 9th, 2009. We discussed to build up a
future relationship between Yonsei University College of Medicine and RIKEN.
