| The revised distribution fees are applied to all orders for the
| bioresources
+-----------------------------------------------------------------------

The RIKEN BioResource Center (BRC) is a non-profit institution funded
by the Japanese Government. We are engaged in collecting, maintaining,
multiplying, storing and distributing bioresources, in order to support
research and development in the field of life sciences.
The RIKEN BRC has been providing bioresources not only to scientists in
Japan but also in other countries with minimum fees solely to reimburse
the RIKEN BRC for a portion of the preparation and handling costs of the
requested bioresources. Due to release of new bioresources and changes in
government regulations, it has become necessary to revise the distribution
fees.
We sincerely hope that these revisions will not inconvenience our
customers.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
We are looking forward to receiving your requests for our bioresources.

| B6N Mouse BAC clone
+-----------------------------------------------------------------------

The Gene Engineering Division has constructed a BAC library of the
C57BL/6N (B6N) substrain and the RIKEN BioResource Center completed BAC
end sequencing of B6N and register the sequence data with DDBJ in
collaboration with the National Institute of Genetics under the Genome
Information Upgrading Program of MEXT NBRP.

| Deposition of cell lineage reporter mouse lines
+-----------------------------------------------------------------------

A series of gene-trap knock-in fluorescent reporter mouse lines have
been deposited from Dr. Takashi Hiiragi, Max-Plank Institute for Molecular
Biomedicine, Meunster, Germany.

| Publications by users
+-----------------------------------------------------------------------

The following review article by users has been published in Cell.
The authors kindly referred useful cell and mouse resources at the
RIKEN BRC.

Mizushima N, Yoshimori T, Levine B. Methods in mammalian autophagy
research. Cell. 140(3):313-326. (2010)

+-----------------------------------------------------------------------
| "IMPORTANT" Request to Users
+-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Please use the following sentence to expressly describe the RIKEN BRC
as the source of the BIOLOGICAL RESOURCE in 'Materials and Methods' of
your publication.

Example: "ABC mouse strain (RBRCxxxxx) was provided by RIKEN BRC through
the National Bio-Resource Project of the MEXT, Japan."

To be able to continue our service to the international scientific
community, the RIKEN BRC needs to demonstrate publicly our contribution
to the scientific community by disclosing our user's research publications.

+-----------------------------------------------------------------------
| Report: The 23rd International Mammalian Genome Conference
+-----------------------------------------------------------------------

The 23rd International Mammalian Genome Conference was held at La
Jolla in California, USA from November 1-4, 2009.

+-----------------------------------------------------------------------
| Newly deposited mouse strains
+-----------------------------------------------------------------------

These mice have been newly deposited to RIKEN BRC. They will be available
soon after rederivation. We appreciate depositors for their contributions
to the scientific community.

+-----------------------------------------------------------------------
| Newly available mouse strains
+-----------------------------------------------------------------------

These mice just have been rederived into our barrier facility.
These mice are now available for distribution.

+-----------------------------------------------------------------------
| Mouse strains for freeze preservation
+-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Since enough number of embryos has been preserved, live mice of these
strains will be closed soon. It will take more than 3 months to recover
live mice from frozen stock. Please let us know as soon as possible, if
you plan to use the mice and request them alive.
