International Phenome Integration Meeting JAPAN/InterPhenome/CASIMIR |
|
July 12th - 13th, 2009 Kyoto, Japan |
|
| International Phenome Integration Meeting (Japan / InterPhenome / CASIMIR*1) was held at Laforet Biwako hotel in Kyoto from July 12th through the 13th.
RIKEN, EuroPhenome, MGI*2 and the CMHD of the Toronto Centre for Phenogenomics participated in the meeting on the data integration/sharing between mouse phenotype databases under the umbrella of the InterPhenome and CASIMIR consortiums.
We have agreed on the following: |
| - |
RIKEN, EuroPhenome, MGI*2 and CMHD*3 will provide a portal with minimal information of mouse phenotypes.
RIKEN will provides RDF channel for data integrations. |
| - |
For the full integration of phenotype data, we will continue trials of RDF/OWL*4 technology. |
| - |
To encourage free community access to data, we will continue discussion on license issues. |
|
|
| This meeting was coupled with the 23th Molossinus Colloquium held on July 11th and 12th at the same place.
Molossinus Colloquium was founded by a foremost researcher in the field of mouse genetics Dr. Kazuo Moriwaki, Special Adviser to RIKEN BioResource Center, in 1985.
This colloquium has been enhancing the exchange of information among mouse genetics researchers. |

RDF and OWL are Semantic Web standards that provide a framework for asset management, enterprise integration and the sharing and reuse of data on the Web.
These standard formats for data sharing span application, enterprise, and community boundaries - all of these different types of "user" can share the same information.
